Many of our volunteering roles are home-based or in and around your local community so, wherever you are in the UK, you can get involved in volunteering with us. We also have roles available in our office in Farnborough, Hampshire so, if you are local to the area, you could come in to the office to volunteer.
We take up two references for everyone who applies to one of our regular volunteering roles. These are personal references so they could be a manager, a colleague, a school or university teacher or a family friend, for example. If you are applying for one of our ad hoc roles then you do not need to supply references.
We interview all of our volunteer applicants so we have the chance to talk to you about your skills, experiences and motivations for volunteering with us to best match you to an available role. It is always best to have these as face to face meetings with a member of staff in either our office or regionally but where this is not possible then we will arrange a time to conduct a telephone/skype interview.
All of our volunteers will be given an overview induction to the Charity and will receive a Volunteer Welcome Pack which contains lots of useful information about the Charity and your role. You will be provided with full training relevant to the role you are carrying out. All volunteers will also be assigned a staff member as a point of contact so if you have any queries or concerns you can get in touch with them to talk about it.
Again, this is entirely up to you and how much time you will feel comfortable giving. Some of our roles ask for a regular commitment, whether it be an hour a week or a day a week but many can fit in with your own time demands and can be ad hoc, depending on when things are happening in your local community.
