Why run for The Brain Tumour Charity?
The difference you will make
We ask our runners to raise a minimum of £2,700 for their Virgin Money London Marathon place. This could fund two weeks of top quality research; in this time, researchers can test the response of glioblastoma cells to a new drug to determine if it stops growth.
How we'll support you
We're here for you through every step of your Virgin Money London Marathon journey. Our dedicated team will support you with fundraising and training advice and we have a closed Facebook group for #TheBrainyBunch team to share their hints, tips and experiences. You'll receive a running vest, fundraising pack and an invitation to our bespoke training day with a specialist marathon coach to answer all your training needs throughout your journey.
On the day we would love your family and friends to join us at our cheering points, where they will help us be the loudest bunch on the route!
Finally you will be invited to our runner's reception, where you can enjoy some well-deserved food and drinks as well as relax with a shower and massage.

We do ask all our Charity place runners to raise a minimum of £2,700 for their Virgin Money London Marathon place. This could fund two weeks of top quality research; in this time, researchers can test the response of glioblastoma cells to a new drug to determine if it stops tumour growth.
There is no minimum fundraising target for a ballot place - we just ask you to raise what you can!
We do ask that you take the minimum sponsorship seriously but, if you are worried about hitting the minimum sponsorship target – don't be! We are here to support you every step of the way and will help give you lots of support and ideas to make sure you are on the right track with your fundraising!
We do ask that your first donations are received by the 31 December 2018 but don't require the full £2,700 until 8 weeks after the Virgin Money London Marathon.
Public ballot: The 2019 public ballot is now closed and in October 2018 the Virgin Money London Marathon will announce those who have been successful. If this is you please get in touch – we would love to support you!
Charity place: Our charity places are now filled for the Virgin Money London Marathon 2019.
You can pull out of a ballot place up to the Saturday 27 April 2019. There is a form on the marathon website which gives you all the details and they will send you the timetable of when you will have to confirm the roll over (it's usually June).
If you are on a Golden Bond place YOU MUST TELL US! You can't withdraw yourself as technically the place belongs to The Charity.
We discuss roll overs on a case by case basis.
